What is the main material of the Charge Air Cooler Tubes

2026-06-10 - Leave me a message

1、 Mainstream material of intercooler core heat exchange tube bundle (heat dissipation inner tube)

Composite aluminum alloy (maximum usage, standard for automotive/construction machinery)

Brand: 3003 double composite brazed aluminum tube (4343 cladding+3003 substrate), 6061 aluminum alloy

Advantages: extremely high thermal conductivity, light weight, easy brazing and forming, low batch cost; Suitable for air-to-air and water to air coolers.

Applicable: Excavators, loaders, trucks, diesel generators, and factory standard equipment for construction sites.

Optimal thermal conductivity, commonly used for large screw air compressors and high-pressure booster unit intercooler tube bundles; Corrosion resistance and pressure stability, but the disadvantage is that the weight is relatively large and the price is higher.

Stainless steel pipe (304/316L)

304: Universal anti-corrosion version, heavy-duty truck modification, wet construction sites by the sea, high vibration equipment; The tensile strength is much higher than that of aluminum, making it less prone to bulging and deformation.

316L: resistant to chloride ions, salt spray, acid and alkali, specialized for ships, coastal engineering equipment, and chemical booster units.

2、 Hard pipes connecting the inlet and outlet of the intercooler

6061 seamless aluminum tube

Original factory vehicles and construction machinery standard connecting pipelines, lightweight, good heat dissipation, preferred for low-pressure conventional boosting conditions.

High pressure, heavy load, dusty and rainy construction sites, modification of high-power equipment; Anti vibration and anti rust, long-term high temperature does not deform.

20 # seamless carbon steel

Low cost economical unit, low-pressure air compressor cooling pipe; The disadvantage is that it is prone to rusting and can only be used for short-term drying of indoor equipment.

3、 Flexible connection matching (non-metallic tube, paired with metal hard tube at both ends)

High temperature resistant four layer silicone braided hose, used to cushion engine vibration and compensate for thermal deformation. A buffer section must be installed between metal hard pipes.
